The quiet western shore of Lake Garda.
While the promenades of Bardolino and Sirmione overflow in summer, the western shore stays what it has always been: a string of ancient olive groves, cypresses, small harbour towns — and water you can still share.
Maderno sits between Salò and Limone, framed by the slopes where Italy's northernmost olive oil grows. Neighbouring Toscolano has been making paper since the fifteenth century. And the climate — thanks to the mountains to the north — is Mediterranean, almost subtropical, with mild winters and long, luminous springs.
